One to One Tuition

In 2019 I made the decision to help other people capture amazing photographs of their own dogs. I know how frustrating it can be when trying to capture a certain look your dog has, or those action shots you've always dreamt of.

If you are beginner, a keen amateur enthusiast or even a professional who wishes to be able to take gorgeous photos of your dog then One to One Tuition with PHODOGRAPHY By Will is definitely for you. Knowing your camera is one thing, but understanding dogs and how to get the most out of any personality is another! Do you struggle with the editing process too? This is also covered.

Will breaks it down in a no nonsense approach with easy step by step instructions. Will's tuition course takes place at the stunning Roaches with many different foregrounds and backgrounds to work with, along with some beautiful dog models for you to practice on, so you don't need to worry about bringing your own dogs.

An outline of the 9am - 5pm day is as below:

  • Morning session at Spout Cafe in Leek to go over basics (if needed) covering Camera settings (shutter speed, Aperture, ISO, Focus points and manual exposure)

  • Looking for compositions at the Roaches

  • Understanding dog behaviour and also covering how to engage with dogs, getting their attention, positioning dogs, lining them up for success and multiple dogs.

  • The fun part - Taking photos of the dogs! After we have gone over everything, now is the time to put it all in to practice. Will will continually go over settings, composition, lighting and getting the most out of the dogs as much as you need whilst taking photos.

  • Back to the cafe to go over your photos and learn the basics on editing your photos to get the most out of them. You'll take home a physical manual afterwards to address if you forget anything.

A full day of tuition from 9am and until 5pm costs just  £295. This includes:

  • Coffee and cake at the Spout Cafe.

  • A physical manual to take home (to remind you of what we have covered)

  • My 10 years of experience photographing and working with dogs.

  • Dog models to practice on

The only thing you will need to bring with you is a camera or camera phone. The ideal camera set up is a DSLR with a 24-70 and a 70-200 2.8 lens. Anything that can take a photo will work, but of course there are limitations to all cameras. We can't expect to take the same level of quality action photo with an iPhone as we can with a top of the line DSLR camera. You'll also need to bring your laptop with access to editing software such as Lightroom and the ability to transfer your images to the laptop.
